Talk To Me Right

In this world today, no one seems to know how to communicate properly. We talk properly at work to keep our jobs or we talk in text messages and tweets; but, basic human conversation is lacking.

When did we become some rude and disrespectful, to the point we don’t even give each other the greeting of the day? If we talk like this to each other, I really wonder how is our conversation with God. Do we reverence him? Or do we demand of him; hence, our prayers are not being answered.

Normally, what we do in the natural we carry over to the spirit. If we’re mean in the natural we will be mean in the spiritual. Many times people won’t help us because we don’t know how to talk to them right. We’re so busy trying to give someone a piece of our mind. Well I’ve learned, to stop giving people a piece of my mind. At one point in life I thought I was going to lose my mind, and it was then, that I realized the piece of mind that I was trying to give someone; might have been the piece that was keeping me sane.

The beautiful thing about talking to people right is, you don’t even have to know them or like them to have decent words to say to them. God doesn’t like everything we do, but with love and kindness he still speaks to us, even when he chastises us.

So, talk to people right and see how far it gets you. Because, you already know where talking to people crazy gets you. It gets you in fights, office disputes, church cliques, and sometimes dead.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Life Doesn’t Stop

Life doesn’t stop because you’ve had a bad day, week, month or year; no, it keeps moving. You can’t just quit and give up because things didn’t work out the way you planned. So you’ve been thrown a curve ball and all of a sudden you feel as though God doesn’t love you anymore. Get yourself together, and realize that nothing can happen to you without God’s permission.

Test and trials come to make us strong, to let us know what God has placed inside of us, to purge us of things not like God and to draw us into a closer relationship to God. God doesn’t allow things to happen to us for kicks and giggles.

When Moses died, God told Joshua get up and get moving, life goes on.
When Naomi went back to her homeland, Ruth said I’m going with you, life goes on.
When Jeremiah wanted to give up and throw in the towel, he got himself together and said life goes on.
When Rizpah sons were killed she fanned the fowl of the air away all day and night until David gave them a proper burial, she said life goes on.
When Ezekiel’s wife died and God told him you better not shed one tear, Ezekiel sucked it up didn’t cry and said life goes on.
When blind Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by and the people told him to shut up, he cried even the more and said life goes on.

See, no matter what your circumstances are, life doesn’t stop. Learn to roll with the punches, through all the pain and sorrow life can bring. You just may find that if you keep living and don’t give up; God will turn your mourning into dancing, your sorrow into laughing and your sadness into joy.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Home Sweet Home

I’m so happy to be back home. While I was gone my daughter had a car accident, my grandson scraped his knee and the volcano erupted. I was trying to locate my kids to tell them to get in the house and shut off the air conditioner so the ash wouldn’t affect them. Thank God for friends you can call when you’re not able to be there. Everything was handled in a matter of a text message. Truly there’s no place like home.

It feels the same way when you give your life to Christ or you return from your backsliding ways. You’re home! There’s no place like being in the ark of safety in God, and when you couldn’t pray for yourself, God sent a text to someone to pray for you.

Just know, whenever you leave home whether naturally or spiritually; there’s nothing that can take the place of home.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Decisions

We all make decisions on a daily basis, but do we include God in our decision making process? Do we only trust God with the big decisions and leave the minor decisions with ourselves?

When we face things we think we can handle, we often leave God out of the process and act as if he doesn’t exist. But as soon as something comes along that we think is too big to handle, we are begging and pleading with God to help us.

The truth of the matter is, we need God in every situation no matter how big or small. We need God whether or not we think we can handle it. God is our guide, and as soon as we think we don’t need him we go astray.

Today, include God in every decision you have to make.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

What’s The Use

How many of us get the feeling of what’s the use when we are trying to help somebody that obviously don’t care? Does this makes us want to quit? Or, does it drive us to do whatever it takes for them to see the light?

We were once like the people we are trying to help. Somebody gave up on us, somebody said what’s the use about us; but God said, it’s not his will that none shall perish.

God never had a what’s the use attitude when it came to us. He had an whosever will let them come attitude. Just knowing this should make us not want to give up on helping someone else. For you don’t know what stage of life they are in. The bible says; one plants, another one waters, but God gives the increase. Therefore, you don’t know if you are planting or watering and it frustrates you when you don’t see the increase after all of your hard work.

Nevertheless, don’t give up on them because God didn’t give up on you when someone else said what’s the use.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When I’m Not Around

I often tell my kids that they are suppose to be obedient even when I’m not around. I asked my youngest daughter why doesn’t she like to listen to other people, and she replied; because their not my momma. I explained to her, they may not be me but they are in authority and it’s not nice or quite for kids to be disrespectful. She said, mom I know but they are just not you and I only want you telling me what to do.

I thought about that and and said to myself, this is how Christians act. We only want God to speak to us. We don’t want the pastor, the boss, our spouses or anyone else in authority telling us what to do. However, the bible tells us to obey those that have rule over you. So now, we no longer have the testimony, I’m grown and you don’t pay my bills so you can’t tell me what to do.

Because we can’t physically see Jesus, doesn’t mean we can act any kind of way. Because we think Jesus is not around, doesn’t mean we can say anything we want. We need to act right at all times, sadly when we act up outside of the church we bring that same behavior to the church, and have the nerve to say this church got problems. It’s because we keep misbehaving thinking God is not around.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Share

Why don’t people like to share information especially when it will help someone else get ahead? Why are we so afraid of other people getting ahead in life? I’ve learned that sharing information is better than holding it all to myself.

It feels good when I can tell someone how to get the job, then when they apply and get the job I see a burden lifted off them. I feel the same way when sharing the word of God. I love to share the word of God and watch people lives change for the better. Sadly, many Christians in the church don’t feel this way. They feel like if they share everything then they will be moved out of position.

Sharing information doesn’t move you out of position; not being faithful, available and teachable moves you out of position. So share and keep sharing knowing you are making a difference in someone else’s life.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Through The Storm

I’ve been flying for two days now and I’ve flown through the storm and rain. The airplane shook violently when we hit turbulence, and it was enough to make your head and body hurt, but once out of the storm it was like the airplane was in stealth mode.

Many of our lives are are going through the storm and the rain, and the turbulence is enough to make us want to quit. However, if we keep going through the storm we will get through it. Just like the pilot couldn’t stop, he had to keep flying through the storm to get us to our destination; we can’t stop.

Our destiny depends on us making it through the storm. No matter what, don’t give up, don’t give in and don’t give out.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

God’s Got It

I was on the bus headed to the airport to go on another business trip when my phone rang. It was my daughter crying uncontrollably, she had just had a car accident. I was trying to get her to calm down to see if she was alright and to see if the other driver was ok. My daughter wanted me to come but I was already on the bus. There was nothing physically I could do.

I told her, let me call somebody and I will call you right back. I called my pastor, the deacon, my co-worker and anybody else I could think of. I was trying to stay calm but hearing the fear and anguish I’m my daughters voice was making me feel more and more helpless.

I did the best thing I could do. I prayed, I prayed for her and the driver and I prayed Lord please don’t let this cost me too much. Everyone showed up to help my daughter. It was God telling me I got this, you can’t do anything anyway. I spoke with the police because my daughter forgot her drivers license, I let them know who I was and who I worked for and everything went smoothly for her. I spoke with the paramedics and they told me the other driver was ok, no airbags deployed, the driver was sitting on top of the steering and they were going to check the driver for chest and abdominal pain; and that there was very minimal damage to her bumper. I felt relieved.

God has every situation under control in our lives, whether it’s a car accident, finances, children, jobs, etc…

I’m going on my business trip in peace knowing God’s got it. Today have peace in whatever situation you are in. Just keep speaking, God’s got it.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Healer

Many people think that they have to have a physical ailment for God to heal them. You don’t need physical ailments, you just need an issue.

Our emotions need The Healer, our hearts need The Healer and our minds need The Healer. God wants us to be made whole and when we are healed in every area of our life, we can be made whole.

So let’s come clean with God and tell him what really hurts, what’s really broken. Besides, he already knows, he’s just waiting on us to confess it.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
