When God Shows Out

Yesterday was my book signing and God decided to show out. It was amazing, the people came out in support of me and we had a good time.

When it was time to sign the books people got in line and it seemed like the line was never ending. Some people were buying all three of my books while others were only buying one. I completely sold out of the first book and had to direct people to the website.

I thanked everybody for coming and I told them this was the best book signing I have ever had. I told them how only three people showed up to my very first book signing and how that discourage me; therefore, I didn’t have a book signing for my second book.

God really showed out this time. He gave me triple for my trouble.

So, if you have failed at something in the past don’t give up. God just wants to see if you will have the faith to move forward even if you think your dreams are shattered. Once you step out on faith, God will show out on your behalf.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Getting Ready For The Big Day

Today is my book signing party and I have been getting ready for this day for a while. So much preparation because this is not some ordinary day.

I won’t just be sitting at a table with books. There’s going to be food, music, readings, mingling and laughter. And of course books being signed. All of this preparation for a few hours in the spotlight and then it’s gone.

As I make these preparations I have to check myself to see if I’m making the same preparations for my big day with God. When he calls me home will everything be in place?

Will my soul be right? Will I have been faithful over the few things? Will my life have lined up with his word? Would I have lived holy according to the word of God? Would I die with unforgiveness in my heart?

When preparing for this big day I have to write down the things I need and the things I need to flee from because this day will only come once for me and there are no more second chances once my name is called. Everything I’ve done whether good or bad will be called into judgement, so as I get ready for this big book signing today, I’m also getting ready for the ultimate book signing when I can see my name written in the Lambs Book Of Life.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

God’s Blessings vs. My Blessings

God’s blessings maketh rich and add no sorrow.
My blessings make me rob Peter to pay Paul.

God’s blessings allow you to freely share.
My blessings make you think twice about who you are sharing with.

God’s blessings allow you to be secure.
My blessings always have you wondering when is it going to be stripped away.

Instead of always trying to bless yourself, realize this is only a temporary fix leading you down a slippery slope. Allow God to bless you because no good thing will he withhold from you and his blessings won’t make you broke, sick, or out there like a ship without a sail.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Tired

Many of us always say we are tired of people and the games they play. We say we don’t have time for their foolishness and so we leave them alone.

Do we ever think that God is tired of us? Do we think God is tired of the games we play? Oh! You think we don’t play games with God?

How about when we ask God for something and promise him something in return. He holds up his end of the bargain but we don’t hold up ours. That’s playing games.

In the natural if somebody did that to us we would be mad, angry and upset. We also would stop messing with them because after all we’re tired.

Until we are tired of playing games with God, tired of crucifying him afresh on the cross, tired of saying one thing but doing another and tired of discrediting our witness; we will continue to act like godless children who have no relationship with God.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Make Sure You’re Never Too Busy

Every morning I start my day with a run. No matter how tired I am, no matter how much my body hurts or no matter where I’m at in the world I go running before I do anything else for the day. While running I’m praying and seeking direction from God. God is talking to me and instructing me.

As my day goes on I find that I’m too busy for everything. I eat my food and don’t pray for my food until after I’m back in my car going to another meeting. When I think about reading the word I decide to send an email that’s pressing. When I feel like it’s time to pray, I find myself calling someone I forgot to call back. Just when I think I can settle down and relax, my kids need me, they need me to go to the store, help with homework, pick them up etc…
As I began to get ready for bed I find myself to tired to pray.

I realize this, I cannot afford to miss my morning talks with God because it helps me throughout the day. I can imagine my days being chaotic if I didn’t take the time out to spend with God.

So no matter what is happening in your day, make sure you’re never to busy to talk to God, to praise God, to thank God, to magnify God and to lift up his holy name.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When The Earth Quakes In Your Life

Yesterday we experienced an earthquake. It came out of nowhere. There was no warning and everything around us began to move. My son asked mom are we having an earthquake? I said yes and just sat on my bed trying to see if the earthquake would become bigger and remain mild. The earthquake remained mild and I carried on about my business. My other children were sleeping and I didn’t wake them.

But what happens when our world starts to quake around us and everything is moving and we can’t get a grasp on anything that is going on in our life? Do we remain calm? Or do we start screaming or trying to figure out if the situation is going to get bigger or remain the same? Do we alert others that catastrophe has hit our life and we are on unstable ground or do we sit there and stay silent without alarming the others around us so that they can take cover?

Earthquakes have a way of shaking things up and out. If we are not careful it will shake us up in the church and shake us right out of our faith.

What will the earthquake shake up in you and out of you?

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Songs We Sing In Church

When I’m at church and the choir begins to sing I often wonder do they really believe what they are singing or are they just singing; and do we really believe what they are singing about.

For instance when they sing the song I’ll dance like David danced. Will we really dance like David danced? He danced right out of his clothes and didn’t care.

We also sing songs like, you can’t make me doubt him I know too much about him. But when testing time comes doubting God is the first thing we do.

Maybe we should sing songs like, Lord my faith is weak or perhaps songs that say Lord I’m not really ready to come out of sin I just want it to be covered up and not exposed.

Those are the songs that really show us who we are and perhaps they would make us want to be more pleasing to God.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Counting Up The Cost

What has being saved cost you? Has being in ministry cost you even more? Knowing what you know now, if you had to do it all over again would you give your life to Christ?

Sure we have all lost something and someone that was near and dear to us because we chose to follow Christ. However, we never thought that it would cost so much. And let’s not get started about the things and people we lost out of our lives when we accepted the call God placed on our lives. We thought we’d never recover from such a great lost.

However, when you really look at the things and people that are no longer apart of the new us, we realize that we really didn’t lose anything. After counting up the cost we’ve found out that holding on to those things and people would have really cost us more than we were willing or able to pay.

Counting up the cost helps us to see what we can afford in the natural as well as the spirit. Naturally it’s easy to tell if we can afford it, but spiritually, it takes us through a process that can either make us increase our faith or lose our faith.

Don’t be afraid to count up the cost, at least you’ll know where you stand.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Earth Is The Lord’s

I was talking to a lady one day and we were talking about how we travel back home only to see our friends who we went to high school with still acting like we are in high school.

I told her how one guy told me he was holding down the block. Mind you we are about to turn 40yrs old. My first thought was, no the city is holding down the block then I thought, God is holding down the block for the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.

I began telling the lady that I was so ashamed of some women today and how some women degrade theirselves and each other. How some women don’t take pride and value in themselves. I told her how one woman told me she can do whatever she wanted to do with her body and at first I thought yeah you’re right, then I thought, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and they that dwell in it.

Understanding that God gives us free will doesn’t mean we are in his will. Because we can do things that are legal doesn’t make it right.

We have to take care of what God left us. We are just visitors here on earth and eventually our visit is coming to an end.

So the next time we think we can do what we want with our bodies and treat our dwelling places any kind of way, remember, the earth is the Lord’s and not yours.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Journey Home

On this journey home to heaven we will encounter some difficulties, hardships, heartaches and some happiness.

When the hard times come it makes us want to quit the journey and give up. When times are happy it makes us want to stay on the journey no matter how long it is.

I just took a long journey overseas and we hit turbulence but the pilot didn’t stop, he didn’t give up, he put on the fasten your seatbelt sign and kept it moving. Eventually we made it through the turbulence and landed safely.

So when turbulence comes to you on this journey, buckle up your seatbelt of praying, fasting and reading the word and watch God bring you through it and allow you to land safely.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
