A False Sense Of Security

I often tell my children that they have a false sense of security because of where we live. My children never lock doors because of the environment in which we live, they look out for their safety and they are oblivious to real life.

My aunt came to visit me and it was past midnight when we got from the airport and I said just open the door, the kids never lock it. She looked at me in amazement and said well please lock the door. When we got in the house my kids were knocked out, none of the noise we made woke them up. I said, oh my kids have a false sense of security and she said I see.

How many of us have a false sense of security because of the amount of money we make or the neighborhood we live in?

How many of us live life as though calamity and troubles will never happen to us?

How many of us let our guard down because we have been getting away with things for so long and never got caught?

Well some Christians live their lives with a false sense of security. They like to say once saved always saved and they feel that they can live any kind of way.

The only real security we have is in Christ Jesus. Let’s not let our lust or greed give us a false sense of security. But, let our relationship with Christ be all the security we need.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Stay Alert Stay Alive

The bible says The Lord will come like a thief in the night and that we will not know at what time he’s coming. Does this make us more alert or do we go about our business as usual?

When I was in war we were alert at all times. We didn’t know which direction the enemy would be coming from and we definitely didn’t know the time they were coming. The enemy never sent out a Public Service Announcement, they just showed up and all hell broke loose. We always told our Soldiers, stay alert stay alive.

It’s hard to be caught off guard when you are alert. It’s hard for the enemy to do a sneak attack when you are alert.

Well we know that Jesus is coming back but why are we not on alert? Why do we go around acting like we don’t have another life to live after this earthly life? I always hear people say; ” you only live once”. They are dead wrong, you live twice, once on earth and once at your final stop, heaven or hell.

So stay alert so that you can be alive in peace, joy, harmony and praise with your father when your time is up down here. Stop going about your day thinking that this day is like every other day, because this could be the day that the trumpet sounds.

Stay alert Stay alive.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Tone It Down

Have you ever been praising God and the people around you wished that you would tone it down? You paid them no attention because your praise was between you and God.

Perhaps you’ve been the one wanting someone to tone it down so that the church service could continue and y’all get to go home.

How is it when you get your praise on you don’t mind holding up the service but when it’s someone else’s turn you’re ready to go?

Just like we were not there when God saved you, delivered you, got you out of that trouble, brought your spouse back home, healed your body, kept your children, kept you in your right mind, gave you the job and provided for you in every way imaginable; remember you were not there when God did it for the other person either.

So let’s not tone it down but scream out even the more. LORD I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU AND PRAISE YOUR NAME BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Choice Is Yours

We make choices every day. We make the choice of what clothes we’re going to wear, what shoes we will put on and how we are going to fix our hair.

We make choices about the career we choose, the schools we go to, and the foods we eat.

No one forces us to choose our career field. People may make us go to school but they can’t force us to stay in school. People can offer us food but we have to choose to eat it.

Just like we tend to want to make someone do something ultimately it’s up to them to decide to do it.

Just like with God, it’s not his will that none shall perish; but we have to make up in our minds and choose the god we will serve. Every day we make this decision with our words and our actions.

Hopefully, we will have the testimony as for me and my house we will serve The Lord.

The choice is yours, choose wisely.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Act Like That

Don’t act like you are better than others because you make more money than they do. Realize you are only two weeks away from being in their shoes.

Don’t act like you have never been a sinner and have never messed up after you got saved. Don’t turn your nose up at others in the church because you have a title and an anointing. The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh away.

Don’t act like you have never had to struggle in life or never had to ask anyone for help. For it’s only by the Lords mercies that you are not consumed.

When we act like this we are not letting our light shine and we are giving Jesus a bad reputation.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Winds And Weights

When it’s windy outside and we have to be out in the elements it tends to slow us down. The wind whips us on every side. We can’t hide from the wind and we are just exposed to whichever way it’s blowing.

Weights do a couple of things for us, they help build muscles and they also weigh us down and causes us to ask for help.

When the winds of life blow our way, instead of walking with the wind turn your back and let the wind push you. Learn how to use the wind to your advantage.

When the weights of life stop helping you to build faith, courage, confidence and a relationship with God, then lay aside every weight and sin that so easily beset you and as always turn everything over to Jesus.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

All Of A Sudden

Have you ever had good day then all of a sudden something happened that you don’t have words to describe?

Have you ever went to church and said I’m just going then I have errands to run, but all of a sudden you found yourself praising, praying and crying all at the same time?

Have you ever taken life for granted then all of a sudden you were fighting for your life?

It’s sad to think that when we go to work and our children go to school that we can’t be for sure that we will all make it back home, because all of a sudden other people’s behavior could cost us our lives.

Please keep the families from
FT. Hood in your prayers because all of a sudden their lives have changed and will never be the same.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

What Do You Do

What do you do when life throws you a curve ball and the situation is so bad that you can’t even pray?

What do you do when the child you’ve raised won’t talk to you or you get a phone call saying their dead?

What do you do when you continue to get passed over for promotion and you know you’re qualified?

What do you do when reading the word, going to church, and hanging around Christians make you sick?

You lean on God and trust in God as if your very life depended on it because in actuality it does. Life has a way of letting us know just how fragile and vulnerable we are. It can rip the very core of our faith and yes it can happen to the best of us.

So today, let’s purpose in our hearts and minds that we will cast all of our cares on The Lord, no matter how small or big.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When Was The Last Time

When was the last time you did something for someone else just because?

When was the last time you went a whole day without complaining?

When was the last time you went to God with a thank you instead of a let me ask you?

Many of us have forgotten about the simple things in life like going for a walk, helping others with no hidden agendas, relaxing and taking in God’s fresh air.

So remind yourself of when the last time life was simple and peaceful and try to get some of that back.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
