God Will Give You A Do Over

Today I have repeated the same day twice. I left one country on the 19th and arrived in a new country on the same day. God was showing me literally how he will give us another chance to get some things right.

When I left the first country I was instructed to call my father I said who does that, because we don’t have the best relationship. But when I got to the new country and repeated the same day over I called and he answered and we spoke briefly.

See God knows just what we need and when we disobey him, he will say now I’m giving you a chance to do it over.

What do you have to do over to be obedient to God? Whatever it is, do it and keep it moving.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Do You Love What You Do

Do you love where you work, what you do for a living and what you do in your personal time?

I love my job. I feel as though I have the dream job. I get to travel all over the world, the pay is great and you can’t beat the housing arrangement.
I also love preaching and teaching the word of God and writing books.

See I decided a long time ago that I would love what I do because it makes doing it easier. When you love what you do nobody has to make you do it.

See you love getting your check, nobody has to make you go pick it up. It should be that same way with everything.

If you’re in a job you hate, keep that job and quietly look for another one you can love.

If you’re in a church that you don’t like, don’t leave, seek God and ask him to change your heart and mind then if he gives you permission to leave run like never before.

If you look over your life and find that you don’t love anything you do, take an inventory of yourself and get to the root of what makes you so unhappy.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Do You Know Who You Are

I have a three year old grandson and he is always letting people know who he is.

If you call him baby, he’ll say I’m no baby and then he will tell you his first and last name.

If you call him cute, he’ll say I’m not cute I’m handsome.

If you say don’t act like a girl, he’ll say I’m not a girl I’m a boy.

Whenever we are driving he always points out my office building.

Whenever it’s time to go home he knows if we are not on the right street.

I’ve told you all of that to say this; if a three year old can tell you who he is, what he is, and where he is, then why do we have so many adults who don’t know who they are, what they are, or where they are in life?

We need to become like a child in that we won’t be afraid to let others know who we are and what we believe. After all the bible does say a child shall lead them.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

That’s Just How Much I Love You

We’ve all heard the famous song What’s Love Got To Do
With It, but have we really thought about the love of Jesus Christ?

He loves us so much that he died for us even though he knew we would betray him.

He knew we would someday use his name in vain.
He knew we would someday treat him like a sugar daddy.
He knew we would someday use him name to get money unworthily.
He knew we would someday mistreat each other and say it’s in his name.

Yet, he said, those are my children and I am willing to die for them, go to hell for them, then go to my father and intercede on their behalf.

Yes! He loves us just that much.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Thou Shalt Not Steal

How many thieves do we know and by hanging around them we have become thieves ourself?

You may be saying hold up I’m no thief I pay for everything I get and I don’t make it a practice of hanging around thieves.

Well who around you steals your joy, peace, hope and dreams? And, because you haven’t had your guard up birds of a feather flock together.

Now you find yourself always being negative, shooting people’s dream down, and stealing their joy.

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Don’t be the thief, be the one to tell the thief to put that back.

Put that joy back it doesn’t belong to you, put that hope back you can’t afford it, put that peace back and stop touching stuff.

Stop letting people hang around you that only subtract from your life make sure you hang around people that add value.

Be blessed and continued to be a blessing.

God’s Will Be Done

Have you ever prayed for something but you didn’t want God’s will to be done you wanted your own will to be done?

So, God decided to let your will be done and gave you everything you asked for. You thought to yourself great! God is awesome! You even went as far as to testify about it.

Right after you testified and came to yourself, you found out that you really didn’t want your will to be done and that you are sorry that God granted your request.

We have to be careful what we ask for because we might just get it and don’t like it.

From now on let’s pray God’s will be done and not our own will. God knows what’s best for us even when we are living in the moment and we think we can make the right sound decisions concerning our lives.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Hymns

Many of us in today’s churches don’t hear hymns anymore. Our younger generation has no clue of what a hymn is.

Hymns help us make it through when times are hard. I like contemporary gospel too but that’s not the kind of songs I need to hear when I feel like I’m not going to make it.

I need hymns like By the Grace of God I’ve Come a Long Way, Farther Alone, Amazing Grace, God Specializes, Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross, Shine on Me etc…

I was in church one Sunday and I asked a young man to sing a hymn before we prayed and he started singing Open the flood gates of heaven. I stopped him and explain to him that’s not a hymn. I didn’t embarrass him for we were in the back preparing to go out to the front; however, it dawned on me that something I didn’t like when I was an immature Christian is the very thing I cling to now that I know the meaning of hymns.

So don’t despise hymns because we got contemporary music now. In fact try your best to get your hands on a hymn book and make it part of your library.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Right Here

Yesterday I took my children mountain bike riding. As we were going up the hill we had to push hard and at times we had to get off the bikes and walk them up the hill.

On the way down the hill my youngest daughter became scared because gravity was pulling us down. I told her don’t pedal just pump the breaks.

As we continued down the hill I was right beside her and she began to call out mommy in a frantic voice. I said I’m here, I’m not leaving you on this hill. My son kept saying come on don’t be scared, but my daughter just kept crying out mommy, mommy, mommy. No matter how many times I told her I wasn’t going to leave her that didn’t stop her from not trusting that I would get her safely down the hill. It took us a while to get off that hill because of her doubt, fear and unbelief but once we got down she tried to speed off and leave me.

How many of us are like my daughter? We cry out to God and he says I’m here, I’m not going anywhere; however, we don’t trust him to get us out of every situation. Sometimes when we are going through things and it feels like we are falling we have to pump the breaks and listen to God’s voice coasting us out of the situation. It may take a while but God is true to his word. Once God delivers you, don’t be like my daughter and try to speed off and leave God now that you have come through your trial because another one is just around the corner.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Too Silly For A Funeral, Too Serious For A Party

I heard a pastor preach on this subject and I began to look at the condition of people and the church.

When we should be serious or minding the things of The Lord we are playing and Jesus is far from our minds.

When we should be relaxing we are to uptight always trying to see what other people are doing instead of making sure of our well being.

Christians shouldn’t be so serious that they don’t know how to live and enjoy the things of The Lord and they shouldn’t be so childish in their faith that they loose their witness and always running people out of the church.

You can have childlike faith but not childish faith. In other words don’t be too silly for a funeral and too serious for a party.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Ain’t Going To Be Able To Do It

One day somebody wanted me to pray but because of the atmosphere we were in I wasn’t allowed to pray in Jesus name. Therefore, I told them I ain’t going to be able to do it.

My old boss wanted me to work overtime without the pay. I had to tell him, I ain’t going to be able to do it.

A guy wanted to date me but he couldn’t tell me when the last time he went to church, what type of relationship he had with The Lord and what his goals were in life. I had to tell him, I ain’t going to be able to do it.

We have to be able to stand for something or we will fall for anything. We have to know and be able to say what it is we will and won’t do, or people will take advantage of us and cause us to compromise our beliefs.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
