Foreign Land

Living in a foreign land has it’s ups and downs, but for the most part I make do. I learn new customs and courtesy so that I won’t offend anyone in the host nation and so that living here will be easy for me. Many people only consider being in a different country as a foreign land.

Do we ever really think about this land, wherever we may live at, as not being our home? We have a permanent residence in heaven that is prepared for us it’s just waiting for us to occupy it.

So in essence we are all living in a foreign land but while we are here God gave us a book of customs and courtesies we will need when we occupy our permanent residence so that we won’t offend.

In this foreign land we need to get use to worshiping God because the custom in our permanent residence is that the people cry holy, holy, holy all day.

In this foreign land we need to get accustom to jewelry because in our permanent residence it’s a custom to have a crown of jewels.

In this foreign land we need to become accustom to lots of room because in our permanent residence it’s a custom that everyone have their own mansion.

In this foreign land we need to get accustom to peace because in our permanent residence it’s a custom for you to never cry anymore.

Get the book on customs and courtesies for your permanent residence so that you will know what is expected of you when you get there.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Be Grateful

When we look at our situations, our finances, and our lifestyles we tend to compare them to other people’s situations, finances and lifestyles and we tend to become ungrateful.

We stop thanking God for what we have and what he’s done and begin complaining about everything we don’t have.

Do we ever think of the small things we should be grateful for? You know the things we take for granted like:

Being able to dress ourselves
Being in our right mind
Being able to use the bathroom without assistance
Having the activity of our limbs

When you think of these things, your situations really don’t matter. Having all the money but not having the things that I mentioned above earlier don’t matter, having the lavish lifestyle really don’t amount to a hill of beans.

Be grateful for everything you have and everything that God has not allowed you to have.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Have Mercy On Others

Has God ever extended you mercy but then you turned right around and showed no mercy to someone that did you wrong?

To your defense you said but they did me wrong and they don’t deserve mercy. They hurt me and scandalized my name.

Did you ever stop to think that you hurt God, you did God wrong and you scandalized his name with your actions; yet he said I’ll die for you so that you can be saved. I’ll show you mercy because you know not what you do.

Since we are not the Mercy Police we should extend mercy every chance we get.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Lead Me Lord

When we ask God to lead us do we really want to follow him or are we saying lead me because that’s what church people say?

What happens when God begins to lead us in uncomfortable situations or lead us right out of our comfort zone?

Do we still desire to follow him or do we want to turn back? Truth be told some of us want to pump the brakes, catch our breath, and say Lord what’s up with this, you do know where you’re going right. You do understand Lord I am right behind you and I don’t know where we are going, I have no clue where you are taking me.

Asking God to lead us can be scary but he has our best interest at heart. He won’t lead us anywhere that he can’t sustain us. Everything in us may want to turn away but this is the time that we have to sticker closer to God.

For if we turn around we are not fit for the Kingdom of God or fit for the Masters use.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Hear You Loud & Clear

The other day when I was communing with the Lord he told me to watch where I tread. I said ok and thought no more about it. A few days later I ran into some friends that belong to a Greek Organization and they were selling tickets to a dance for a scholarship fundraiser. I thought nothing of it and purchased a ticket.

After walking away God brought back to my remembrance be careful where you tread. I said Lord I hear you.

What the Lord was saying when he reminded me to watch where I tread was that I am not going to the party and that I just gave a donation.

Going to a party is not bad but when God says no then I must listen.

How many of you reading this has had God tell you something and you heard him loud and clear? Did you obey him or did you act like he really wasn’t talking to you?

Hear The Lord loud and clear today and it will save you a whole lot of heartache in the end.

Great God

When we say God is good do we really mean it? Or do we mean that God is good only when things are great in our lives?

We need to realize that God is great even when life ain’t so good.

God is great when we are not good. He’s great when calamity strikes,
He’s great when there is no money.
He’s great when loved ones die.
He’s great when there seems to be no way.

So instead of thinking of God as a good God think of him as a Great God who can do exceedingly abundantly above all we could even ask or think.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Ready To Serve

When you gave your life to Christ were you doing it just so you would be saved or did you do it to be saved and serve the Kingdom of God?

See when I signed up for the military I signed up to get out of Chicago, avoid college, and hanging on the block. I never thought that I joined the military to serve my country. Then we got attacked and life got real.

I found out real quick that I joined the military to serve in whatever capacity the Commander in Chief needed me to serve.

It’s the same way in the Kingdom of God. When you give your life to Christ, you’re saying Lord I’m ready to serve in whatever capacity you need me to serve. I’m a soldier in the Army of The Lord.

So stop thinking you’re just saved to avoid hell. You are saved to help advance the Kingdom of God. For after you have been converted go strengthen thy brother.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

No! Not This Time

Have you ever made a huge mistake and now you are faced with a similar situation and people want you to react the way you did last time?

Is everything inside of you raging and you agree within yourself that yeah I should respond that way?

However, God is telling you No! Not This Time.

This time you will draw them with love and kindness.

This time you will smile in the face of adversity.

This time you will not join the gossip group.

People will look at you and know that your character finally lines up with the word of God.

Stop letting people dictate the way you respond to a situation and let God lead you and guide you, the outcome will be much better.

So the next time someone is looking for you to go off, curse someone out, stop talking to someone because they don’t like them. Tell them, No! Not This Time.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

So Many Times

So many times we’ve asked God for help but failed to help our neighbor.

So many times we’ve prayed to get out of a situation but wanted to see our neighbor stuck in their situation.

So many times we’ve wanted someone to love us but we failed to show love.

So many times we’ve wanted acceptance just the way we are but we want others to change the way they are to fit our mold.

Have we ever wondered that our time has run out for me, myself, and I and it’s time to be about we, us, they.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Need You To Survive

Many of us in this life may have been raised to be independent, self-sufficient and never having to depend on anyone. As a matter of fact, we take pride in not needing anyone. Well sadly, this attitude is all wrong.

The Lord said we are to bear one another burdens. He said where two or three are gathered in his name he would be in the midst.

See we maybe able to do things alone but God didn’t intend for that, so I need you to survive.

I need you to help me pray
I need you to cover my back
I need you to be honest and tell me when I’m walking in error
I need you to call me out when I sin
I need you to celebrate with me
I need you to mourn with me

Let’s stop being lone rangers and tell those around us that we need them to survive.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
